There is a ton of information out on the internet if you just go search for it.  The problem is, you can’t always trust what you read on the internet.  It is important to know that the source is credible.  In many cases, there can also be more than one right answer.  In these QNAWITHCOACHMJ videos, I give you an answer based on my experience and education.  Just exactly what experience and education do I bring to the table?

MJ at the finish of the Ridge Run

I started in triathlons in 2003.  I was a strong swimmer, but mediocre to below-average on the bike and in the run.  I tried training plans out of books, online, hired various coaches and became USAT Ranked with many Age Group in sprint and olympic distance triathlons.  I worked on my weakness (the run) and qualified for the Boston Marathon.  The following year (2008), I became a USAT Certified Coach.  I learned more about training and more about myself.  I then started winning entire races and not just my Age Group.  I won longer distance races and qualified for Kona twice.  I have completed more than 100 triathlons, 27 marathons and 12 Ironman races. In short, I know how to build a strong athlete.  I have coached hundreds of athletes in all distances of triathlon as well as several runners including Boston Marathon Qualifiers.  In 2016, I will become an Ironman Certified Coach and will continue to learn and pass along that knowledge to you.  Thanks for reading, please share and keep the questions coming!
